Chris, Bluetooth is fine if you are a person who remembers to charge his gadgets or mobiles. If you're a person who has a lot of chargers or forgets to charge them alot then you will find you'll probably run the battery down (most have around 8 hours use).

Way? You can allways carge the BT-GPS in the car as easy as a wired.

But you can only use the wired GPS in the car where you have 12V supply but the BT-GPS where ever you like up to 8 hour!

Hi,

I'm also thinking of getting a GPS & TomTom for my IPAQ 5450 and am wondering about bluetooth or not.

I've found the wired version for £119 (incl VAT):
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=60214

and the bluetooth version for £162 (incl VAT):
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=60211

..so it's an extra £40 for the bluetooth one but i've seen bluetooth gps's on ebay for under £100 so i'm thinking I might get the wired pack and get a bluetooth one separatly at a later date then presumably I can use either with my same ipaq and the same TomTom software??

Anyone know if I need any extra leads for either of the above? - i.e is the optional car kit just the holder and charger lead or is it needed to connect the gps to the ipaq? - can I get away with a cheap ipaq car charger instead of paying £40 for this?

And, does anyone know any cheaper deals?

Thanks!
