Would get one if it wasn't for the fact it has a coiled cable to the plug, that would just hang down over the front of the radio, CD player and heater controls.
With the passive one I use now I can route the straight cable out of sight in the narrow gap down the side. _________________ Graham.

They do have one for permanent install that has a straight cable if that is an option? _________________ Darren Griffin |

But would then defeat the purpose of using the mini move it clips. _________________ Graham.

I didn't explain myself very well there, I meant you could use the permanent install version as this has a straight cable and add your own cigarette lighter plug? This version has 12v - 5v reduction circuitry in a small box on the cable so you would need to use a basic cigarette plug that does not have voltage reduction.
It might also be possible to butcher an existing mini-USB charge cable with a straight lead if you wished but I understand that is not a practical solution. The fitted cable uses a shielded mini-USB plug that does not have a moulded 'boot' over it. You would need to shave off the moulded surround of an existing cable to get it to fit! Indeed I may just have a go at that as a straight cable would be a tidier solution for me too _________________ Darren Griffin |

I see now what you mean, using the hard wired version, I have a couple of mini plug and socket units that have one large and one small pin so they will only connect one way.
Could wire the socket in via a fuse to a live connection and put the plug on the straight cable. _________________ Graham.

Brodit have replied that they are already investigating s solution to integrate the TMC antenna. I'll keep you posted on developments. _________________ Darren Griffin |

|
|
Hi all
On the Brodit web site they are showing that they have a mount
for the 720T for £57.99 for fixed installtion and
for the 720 for £43.98 for fixed installtion.
Will the 720T mount have the socket for the TMC receiver |

The x20 and x20T holders are identical, they are offered as T options simply to avoid confusion but they don't (yet) offer any support for the TMC antenna other than allowing you to manually plug it in.
What you are confusing is the difference in price between the active mount with cigarette lighter connection and that with the hard wire option. _________________ Darren Griffin |

If Brodit want a customer to evaluate the new design, I'll volunteer |

To ask the obvious then... Why the different prices? |

They aren't. As I tried to explain above, I suspect the poster was confusing the price of the cigarette lighter versions and the extra cost of the hard wired AMPS connector version. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi All
If you go to the Brodit Web page and search for 720 you get
720 with cigarette lighter £39.98
720 hard wire £43.98
If you now search for 720T you get
720T with cigarette lighter £34.98
720T hard wire £57.99 |

I'm confused as to which web-site you are looking at? www.brodit.com doesn't have any pricing but lists the 720 and 720T holders with the same part number for each type, active, hard wired etc.
DSLDevelopments site has the same pricing for the 720 and 720T and again uses the same part numbers.
There is no 'T' specific solution as yet. _________________ Darren Griffin |
