Hey all

Does anyone know if i can use this bluetooth tomtom wireless GPS unit via a bluetooth dongle on my PC with Autoroute 2007?

I have tried but i can't get it to connect so is there a driver or anything that i can install to make it connect to the computer?

Thanks
Cj

It depends....

Your dongle and bluetooth software (e.g. Microsoft, Widcomm etc) need to be able to support the SPP (Serial Port Profile) in order to make a connection to a GPS unit.

It should work fine. I have yet to see a Bluetooth adapter that doesn't support SPP. The TomTom BT GPS is a standard BT device and I use one with Autoroute occasionally albeit on a laptop with built-in BT support.

Thanks for the prompt reply Darren.
com port for the gps is the problem as i am unable to ether identify one or assign one.
The gps reciver is the i-geo pro from polstar.
The tablet finds it ok but can detect no services so will not allow me to procced further than the pairing.
Now i know the reciver is ok as it works fine with my pda on com port 0.
I have followed Polstars instructions to the letter but they bo not reflect the windows prompts and microsofts help forums are less than helpful.
I am unable to find com port 0 on the tablet!
OK does this help any?
please advise.

Do you know who provides the Bluetooth Stack on the Tablet? Is it Microsoft's BT Stack or someone elses?

Sorry for the delay in replying, however impatience lead me to uninstalling Wimcom? and reinstalling it.
After that everything went well.
Point of fact the original install was the factory one so it just goes to show you can not always trust the supplier!
