"Ray-of-Sunshine" what model TomTom do you have, as the new road layout for the A8000 is on my maps GO 720, map Western_Europe v705.1480, but not on my One V3 map version Uk & Ireland v675.1409.
I have a TomTom One v2 App7.120 UK & IE Map v660.121 Well at least I know now not to buy the UK and western europe version andan update and to hang off for the v7.05 when it becomes available on TomTom Home

The new bit of road opened is the new A8000 road from Newbridge roundabout to the Forth Road Bridge which extends the dual carriageway and links onto the A90 doing away with the old single carriageway which it a bottleneck and full of potholes. Its only a small piece of road but the reference to the M25 is show how important this new piece of road is to those who regulary travel across the Forth Road Bridge.
I know the old road well but I didn't realise the new road was open. _________________ Jock

Well when travelling southbound if you forget and take the old road I dont know if that will be a dead end or will take you to Kirkliston. Heading soutbound from the bridge you need to get in the right-hand lane now to get to the A8000 to Newbridge roundabout or you will end up in Edinburgh at the Barton roundabout. The new bit of road is apparantly only single lane at present in both directions in the meantime.

In Scotland a new stretch of long awaited road had just opened linking to the forth road bridge which for us is like the M25 just being finished and not shown on TomTom maps does that mean it could be 2 years before even this is updated.
This road opened just over a week ago, so it is no surprise that it doesn't appear on the v.660 maps which came out in 2006 or the v.675, which I have, which came out in about April 07.
I have driven the new road and think it is a definate improvement over the old single carriageway A8000. For your info, the old road will remain and as you suspect, will take traffic to and from Kirkliston. That part of road is almost finished, I was there talking to the workmen a couple of days ago.
I haven't seen any version 7 maps, but as uptowndisco states, the new road layout is shown. So I think we should all wait until the v.7 maps are on general release. Definately do not buy the v.675. _________________ Tommo...
