unfortunatly eddies storbart is no more it was sold last week to another enterprise group and will now be called the stobart group sounds like another city group getting ready to go bang

Did Tim Henman ever start playing?
He certainly never had that 'killer instinct' or outward desire to win like a lot of players have.
Another game we play is trying to work your way through the alphabet with car makes and models. Some letters need a little time, patience and great observation

I find that concentrating on accually driving helps!
I just don't really see eddies, I know they have that big letter on the back but how different is it from all the others, esp. all these polish firms sending their drivers over without even a map.
Several times now we've had a lorry turn up with a driver who can't speek english with a torn off bit of paper reading.
Dover, M25, M1, Milton Keynes, blabla road, blab trading est.
"where this?" he says. ha! I could just send these drivers all over the gaff for a laugh!

I can't remember the accurate details, but a couple of years ago, I turned up on my usual run to a company at Bedford House in Taunton, to be confronted by a very large artic right in their entrance, in quite a state of stuck under their first floor tunnel, it being more designed for cars. He'd been intending to go to the same company at Bedford!

Who said anything about not concentrating on their driving?
If you are concentrating on what's going on around you, then you should see these dirty great trucks on the road 
In fact, you'll see in one of the other threads that I mentioned using paper maps to plan breaks on longer journeys...an aid to maintaining concentration.
Having said that, the point that I was trying to make was that motorway driving can be tedious with mile after mile of relatively straight road.
...oh yes, and wasn't this thread about entertaining the kids, not how to distract the driver

I'm betting he was delivering a photocopier or something of an equally reduced size that could have been delivered in a smaller vehicle. From the drivers point of veiw I'm sure it was a case of "oh damn I got that wrong"

Is it more fun and/or better value for money to get the likes of Dennis to deliver it in his small kangaroo van and destroy have the county's wildlife or watching a foreign driver get his artic stuck and then struggle with the lingo.
If these foreign drivers were charged for the damage they cause to low bridges, buildings etc, then it might make them think twice about driving more carefully and observing road signs
