Hi all,

I seem to remember reading that some folks were able to get Tomtom home working by putting the SD card into a card reader on the PC instead of actually having the Rider connected to the PC.

If I have to resort to a card reader, will I get the full functionality of Tomtom Home? I mean, will I be able to:

- backup the itineraries that I created on the Rider?
- create itineraries in Tomtom Home and send them to the card?

I'm asking because I'm not sure where user-defined data is actually stored. I don't know whether it's on the SD card, or in the Rider's internal memory (if it has one)...

TIA
Tarby

All custom data is stored on the SD Card.

The Rider, when it is connected to the PC, is nothing more than a Card Reader anyway. Albeit only USB1.1 Wink

Incidentally, most don't use HOME for copying data and backing up, preferring to use Explorer.

OK, cheers.

Well, I've invested in a card reader and hooked it up and lo and behold, Tomtom Home has recognised it and downloaded some updates.

Now I might be having a senior moment here, but I was under the impression that I could construct itineraries in TTH without the use of Tyre, Google Earth etc. Is that so? I don't see anything in the menus to let me do that.

TIA

You can construct Itineraries in the same way that you can on the Device itself.

If you have HOME V1.xxx, there is an Icon, labeled My GO at the bottom of the left hand window pane.

If you HOME V2 there is an option to Operate my Device.

In either case you then go through the Main Menu to find Itinerary Planning.

Cheers Richard,

Now that I'm home and have put the card into the Rider, it's all working fine (at last) Very Happy

Cheers,
