GPSW.co.uk & Garmin

Now over a year ago, I bought a 76C from gpsw.co.uk for the bargain price of £99. Great 'end of line' offer. And a good few members in our flying club (paragliders) bought them up.

After about 10 months mine went faulty, and would not record tracks correctly, not good for logging my flights. I did a full reset and made sure it had the latest firmware, but still the fault remained.

I contacted (emailed from my hol in France) gpsw.co.uk and they were very good at realising I had a problem from my description, and put up no arguements with regards to returning the unit.

I sent the unit to them and left it a couple of weeks, phoned up and was told it had been sent to Garmin. After a couple more phone calls over another two week period (to follow progress) I was told that Garmin had sent out a replacement model...the next one up a 76Cx :-) And a few days later it turned up from gpsw.co.uk

Although it took a bit longer than I expected, and I had to make the phone calls to keep myself informed, gpsw.co.uk did tell me what was happening and where polite throughout, and it was nice of Garmin to send me the next model up (a lot more expensive).

Just thought I'd let you all know my experiences :-)
