I've got a Tom Tom One Europe - New Edition and added a 2Gb SD card.

Since doing so, the safety cameras that I got through Tom Tom don't appear on the POIs and so don't warn me.

They show up in Tom Tom Home but I just can't find them on the actual unit.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple but am tearing my hair out to see what it is!

The reason you cannot find the TomTom supplied Speed Camera database on the device is because TomTom don't want you to mess with it, they have configured it in the way they consider suits everyone - the up shot is you cannot do anything in way of configuring warnings using this database.
Easy way out is to install the database from this site, which does permit configuragble warnings, distances etc. Even spoken warnings can be added if you want them - Mike

Whilst the wise ones upon this forum may not like the speed camera warnings supplied by TT, if available they do work and do give you a warning. What you cannot do however is tailor them to suit your own needs in the same way as those available from this site. On my 510 in the main menu go to menu 3 of 3 and select "Tom Tom PLUS services" then "Safety camera warnings" there are several options there for you to play around with perhaps the "Disable warnings" has been turned off.

I don't want to tailor them at all. I just want them to appear in the POIs as they did before I installed the SD card so I can set them to warn me.

They're not disabled in Tom Tom Plus Services. Still very confused! So help much much appreciated!

You cannot use Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI with the TomTom Speed Camera Database, it simply will not allow you to configure these items for warnings.

The software refuses to identify the TT supplied database as true POI files - if you want to configure the warnings in the time honoured way you always used to; ditch the TT offering and install something else.

I appreciate EricWB's response and agree the camera database from TomTom does work, if all you want is a simple beep and pre set distance warning, when I have tried the TT database though I have found it woefully lacking in terms of content, accuracy and the lack of mobile camera locations is a major disappointment - the choice is yours - Mike

Wise Mike may not like the camera warnings supplied by TT, but HE IS NOT ALONE. Under the "Safety Camera Warnings" heading you point out, the "several options" seem to be only two, namely Show or Not Show Cameras and Warn or Not Warn about them. Those of us who agree with Wise Old Mike do so on several grounds, configurability being notably high on the list. Other grounds include the accuracy and the number of cameras in the relative databases - Good 'Ole Mike and the rest of us vote for the pgpsw database.

If you have installed a 2GB Card, how did you do it? - presumably you copied everything from the previous one to it, in which case the new card and contents would still work in the same way (or is it one of those new fangled new Ones [a Three, Four or a Five or something daft which they still call a One!!] which starts life with only internal memory and nothing in the SD Card slot?). To repeat what has already been said - you do not enable them as POIs, but via Plus and "Safety Camera Warnings", "Show Cameras" and "Warn" for them.

I've subscribed to the PocketGPSWorld for a year. Downloaded it. Installed it. Dead easy. Enabled the POI warnings. Suddenly, I have Speed Camera warnings again. Lovely!
