Error messages on IPAQ 3870

I am using an IPAQ 3870 with Tomtom 5.
Whilst in use, I regularly get the following message appearing on the screen:
'Unable to connect with the current settings. To change your connection settings, tap settings'. The options are 'OK' or 'Settings'. Tapping OK clears the message and allows the use of Tomtom to continue. Any idea what might be causing this and how to stop it?

Sounds like it could be something to do with TomTom Plus services trying to connect to a phone in order to get data. Why nottap settings and see what happens?
