Yes, well it depends on the hardware so it may not be the exact location.
On my old Casio (which runs Windows CE 3.0) its under;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\CASIO\Keybd\Keys
But on my Ipaq (WM5) its under;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys
Maybe do a search for "Keys"?

Both, one worked , but no effect on buttons, the other did not work.
if doing at the registry how do we define the keys. what needs to be put in regisrty etc for The volume up and down buttons ( which also seems to push in , which could be another funtion), Plus the power and back key |

I use PHM registry editor which has a "Find" function which allows you to search through the registry for keys and values.
Ive seen other registry editors which dont have this function though

IBE regedit has search function but I couldnt find anything relating to keys.
Has anyone opened the A2B up yet? I`m thinking of putting better batteries in it for longer running time. |

No I couldn't find "Keys" neither |
I was falling asleep as I was looking last night. I seem to remember something about "vol" and it had hex codes for the key presses. I`ll investigate again later. |

Great fingers crossed, i did notice the pwrbutton entry too in the "drivers" bit too,
but i'm unsure what i'd do with it. |

A bit of info that might help. The hex codes for the buttons are:
Malata = 007B
Vol UP = 006A
Vol DN = 006F
Vol IN = 007B - same as the Malata button.
The power button didnt respond to the "get hex code for button" prog I was using. |

How do you mean? These are the hardware buttons on the side and front of your A2B. |

Ok no probs, i've been reading allsorts this last week on the net and havn't got anywhere with the button mapping stuff yet, i've been trying out various programs too to see if they work like Pocket Paint & resource meter (both found in an installer called "Plus Pack" but i only wanted those two so i copied their installed folders from the program file folder into my created program file folder on the memory card). I've also got a friends Navman iCN 520 to do something similar (TOMTOM6) but that's not that easy!.
I suppose we are all gratefull to the ones trying to help out here who don't even have an AYTOBE but have good knowledge of pocket pc stuff, i'm sure there are some drivers burried in there somewhere to do with Malata.......but how do we use em'? |
