I documented my reception saga with GTM11 a while back and how I wired it to the radio aerial to get a positive result.
The GTM 11 then expired within a year and was replaced in the end by those nice people at Garmin with a GTM10.
Now being lazy and with limited time I couldn't afford the time to pull out the radio and its cage and wiring to route the aerial to the "IN" side of the GTM10 and then the "out" to the radio.

Lazy cantgetlost fitted the fakra from the ready installed splitter that was installed fot the GTM11 to the "IN" of the GTM10 and instantly got a signal and headed off with a working TMC but still having the odd loss of Signal around the south east but better than the GTM11.

But then there was the unused "OUT" socket on the GTM12. So having a second spare roof aerial I fitted that to the "OUT" socket with the aerial fited to the rear of the roof.
Now may be its just my imagination but driving around the ususal black spots I seem to have the best ever reception!
So, is it me? Or is having two aerials at either end of the car pulling a better signal ?

If I'm right it might be worth other GTM10 users trying the same. Laughing

I've heard a number of users saying that plugging in their GTM10 the wrong way round gave a better signal, although I've no idea why.

With my limited knowlege I assume the in and out actually makes little difference.
Just using the GTM on its own it appears fitting the aerial to either side makes little difference.
The Garmin "correct" Setup uses the GTM10 as the splitter when cobined with aerial and radio with the radioo signal runnuing through the GTM 10.
Using the existing splitter and the secon earial so that the radio signal is not running through the GTM unit does seem to work very well Laughing
