Hello

I have TomTom installed on my Medion PNA 175 and it works fine with no problems, however, the GPS status bars always shows that there are no sattelies connected even tho i have 7 or so at times. I have heard that there is a fix for this but cannot seem to find it. can anyone help.

Like I said it does not affect the way the unit works but would be nice to have

thanks Again
Ste

I've no experience of the Medion PNA 175, so I apologise if this is a stupid question, but if the status bar shows no satellites connected, how can you tell that you have 7 or so?

On any unit that has a portrait screen, you can use programs such as navigator etc (off this site) which will allow the activation of RMC within the nema aerial protocol and thus give you the sat numbers/signal strength when using non-medion software.
The Medion pna 150/175 being in landscape mode posses a screen orientation problem to the use of navigator etc, unless you can do it via active synch???
There is also a gps driver upgrade available from the Medion German web site that is applicable to the pna150 that activates RMC and hence the sat/signal issues with other softwares, perhaps this will also work with the 175.
Search this site for this upgrade, its here somewhere!!

Hi,

I am runninning TomTom Nav 5 on a Medion MD PNA 175 and if you guys want to know how to make the little bars display how many sat's you are seeing/signal strength...install an app called GAPI, I found it by accident while looking for other software that will run on a Medion, found quite a bit of stuff and the app as mentioned, lost the link but google it and see what you find, after I installed this app everything worked properley in TomTom the sat bars turn blue now when it has a fix and the signal strength is displayed in the display bar, hope this is of use to you guys.
