Finally received the upgrade package. Installation relatively trouble free. In view of the size of the new maps my SD card looks like this.........
13.9 mb 9 Spain 1
13.3 mb 11 Spain 3
26.7 mb 15 France 4
63.7 mb 30 (V2) SW France
68.2 mb 31 (V2) NW France
39.7 mb 28 (V2) Southern France

Are the V.1 maps (9, 11 & 15) superflous to my requirements or do they contain my previously stored favourites? I'd like to remove them to create more space if possible. Naturally only the smallish map of SE Spain will actually fit on the base unit. However, it does cover the same area as Spain 3 on the SD card.

Hope that makes sense.

Regards,

Neil

Hi Neil,

You can delete your V1 maps - they can't be used as well as the V2 maps.

Although rumour has it that you can use V1 maps if no V2 maps exist - although I haven't tried it myself.

I have found some errors on the V2 maps but there were errors on the old maps too - different ones of course!

Some have complained that the correct road/town is not consistant- but I have yet to have this problem myself yet.

The routing is mostly better - although I have mine set on quickest and it keeps trying to take me off at Jnc 4 of the M5 to cut across the A38 to rejoin the M42 - rather than the straight M5 Jnc 4A (Well I think thats the number anyway!) and onto the M42. Its as if it is on shortest not quickest route!

The answer is 42. Now what is the question?
