If you have a NV-u51, although it is "TMC ready", it does not come with a TMC hardware module as standard, and you will need to purchase the correct TMC module from Sony. Once you have the TMC module, it should just work, there is nothing to download - it will use the FM radio built into the TMC module to pick up the traffic information.
