I have a HP5550 pocket PC, Tomtom 6 with European map and a QSTARZ 32 channel Bluetooth GPS receiver.
They all works fine. I have been using it since TTN6 came out.
I have now subscribed to Tomtom Traffic. I can get the update through my pocket pc's wireless connection at home(I have wireless router at home). But when I go out I can not get traffic updates. Actually, I dont know how.
I have a Samsung D900 mobile phone with bluetooth (my pocket pc also has bluetooth). I have pay monthly account with Vodaphone and can access data. I requested and they send me setup for GPRS.
anytime I want to update when I am out, my Traffic tells me that it could not connect to wireless.
what do I need to do to get it working?
Sad

I've also got the same problem as you've described trying to connect to Traffic via my phone. Traffic updating works via Activesync but not through my bluetooth connection.

Could the latest version of Navigator have a bluetooth modem bug? The previous version of Navigator 6 worked fine but I've had problems since I upgraded to 6.03 with this issue.

is the phone bonded to the pda and have you put the settings for vodaphone as a modem connection in the pda

Yes, I can connect with the PDA fine and also access the internet with the phone as a modem. As soon as I try the phone with TomTom the there's a disconnection. Everything was working fine up until the new update hence why I think there may be a bug.

you need to create a modem connectionso the pda tells the phone what to dial these settings should be on your mobile phone providers website or there data services helpline should be able to help

are you on Vodafone UK?
You should be using the internet settings not wap ones.

Access Point Name: internet
Username: web
Password: web

The phone number is normally *99#

Unfortunalty I've not used the device you've got before so I don't know exactly how you set them up to use a mobile as a bluetooth modem.

I think I've found the solution to the problem I was having connecting to Traffic via Bluetooth. I did a clean reset last week and Navigator 6.030 was installed first. I checked the Bluetooth connection worked as it should with Traffic and once I knew that it was operating correctly I then added in my remaining software onto my PDA.

However, last night I was using TomTom and again I couldn't get a Bluetooth connection. Even after trying my backup software it still wasn't resolved. I've now gone through the software on my PDA and removed individual programs and then tried my connection. I found that a PDA version of WinZip (HandyZip) was causing the connection fault (which seems a bit strange as there is no Bluetooth requirement for this piece of software).

I've re-installed all the other software that I'd taken off and all works well now but there seems to have been a strange conflict between HandyZip and the latest version of TomTom. I've never had a conflict with previous versions of TomTom but I'm glad to have got this connection issue sorted out now.
