We currently have a TomTom GO700 in the car and find it very easy to use but inconvenient to carry around.

So my wife is looking for a phone that she can carry around in her handbag and yet use, like the GO700, as and when required.

I have seen many phones mentioned on this group but am very confused as to which would be better for someone who neds very limited functionality. We do not want to pay big money for something with all the 'bells & whstles'.

Basically, we are looking for a Bluetooth phone that can be used effectively (how big a screen is required) for Navigator.

Also, is Navigator on a phone the same as on a GO 700?

Thanks in anticipation.

Chris

Thank you for this message and your earlier advice. I am struggling a bit on whether my requirement is more driven by the phone or the sat nav functionality.

I have looked at the T-Mobile MDA C-III PDA based phone and the O2 Orbit. But have also seen the Motorola (6870?) which seems more of a phone than a PDA.

This led to my question here as to whether there is a simpler, and cheaper, solution albeit with limited functionality.

Also, I am correct in assuming that running Navigator on a phone will be very similar to using the GO700?

Thanks

Chris

And which do you prefer?

I've just taken delivery of an Orbit and am not over-impressed with CoPilot. It doesn't help that it places my postcode in a nearby street (no direct access from my street and a different postcode) and then routes me through gardens (that have always been gardens) to go anywhere. Autoroute and other devices I've tried get it right.

Ignoring that, from memory of a TomTom I used a couple of years ago, I much preferred the TT interface. So I'd be grateful for you views on TT vs CoPilot on the Orbit.
