Been using D6 for a few months now, and there are several ***REALLY*** irritating things about it. I've played around with it ad infintum, but still can't find any decent workarounds for the following:

1. when panning around the map and zooming in and out, the screen only stays in the panned/zoomed state for a few seconds before returning to the original centred-on-the-current-location state. Any way of stopping this from happening?

2. D6 is obsessed with the motorways. The other day, I wanted to drive 55 miles via one B road, one A road and then local roads to my house. D6 suggested I drove in completely the opposite direction to another A road, then to a dual carriageway. A total distance of 90 miles. Whilst this is an extreme example, it's extremely common for D6 to suggest a ridiculous route such as this. Asking for the "shortest route" isn't helpful at all, because this will invariably involve C-roads and lots of junctions, making the journey much longer.

3. Many, many times D6 thinks that hard turns in one road are junctions. For instance, coming up to a hard 90 degree right hand turn, D6 says "turn right". Is this a fault with the maps, or is this a fault with D6 and the way it reads the maps?

1. In the Map Manager menu there is a button for "Free Map Browsing", this will stop it from jumping back to the gps location.

As for your other comments:

Yes, it is a pain that it always tries to follow motorways. And yes, it is also a pain that it sees some curves in roads as junction turns, and then sometimes does not recognise a proper junction at all.

Come on programmers at Destinator, sort these silly problems out, they spoil a good product.

You should install the V6.1.1 Patch, which solves bugs and has improved routing: http://www.destinatortechnologies.com/de_DE/mydestinator/index1.html

You can tweak the routing of the 6.1.1 version. Check out the RouteTurn.ini in the D6-main-folder.
