Whoops, I must have missed that but I have Outlook 2000 and it's still working OK. In fact I can't see any difference at the moment.

It would have been more helpful if I had added, please download and read the small (65kb) 'Read Me.doc - one of the three files in the download, before deciding to upgrade from a previous version. Embarassed

just had a quick look at the readme

4. KNOWN ISSUES

ActiveSync 4.5 does not support Microsoft Outlook 2000. It is highly recommended that you upgrade to Microsoft Outlook 2003 messaging and collaboration client.

and

• If the desktop PC operating system is upgraded, or if a Service Pack is installed, you must perform a repair installation of ActiveSync in order to enable the expected ActiveSync functionality.
• If you upgrade to Windows Media Player 10 after you have installed ActiveSync on your desktop PC, you must perform a repair installation of ActiveSync. This enables successful Media Synchronization to a Windows Mobile-based device.

Im glad I dont have outlook 2003 now so that i cant update Laughing Out Loud.[/code]

When I read that, I read it to mean that you need Outlook 2003 if you use that for synchronising purposes - I don't think that is a requirement for using it for synching with your GPS device.

As to Sygate, is there no means to add AS to allowed programs, rather than turning it off Question

Just tried Media Player 10 and that's still working fine too. :D Although it was already installed before installing AS 4.5.

The big plus point for AS4.5 is the ability to connect and sync to a device running WM6 Crossbow - the next mobile software version due out soon for some devices, without 4,5 you cannot do a great deal with WM6 loaded to a device - Mike
