No there is no update version as such. The DVD that you'ii get from Garmin is the full version as well that will need to be installed on your computer and then the maps transferred to the unit.

OK Thanks, I'll try to download that disk and unlock it with the update code for my update.

Hmm, it looks like I've missed a small detail, that it's not the same if you're updating a nüvi/SP or a Quest 2. As it looks like, the Q2 does need another disk, as Mapsource itself does not allow updating the internals maps.

Looks like I've to go to the Quest-Forum for the correct disk.

No mapsource is definitely not what you need. It is City Navigator Europe NT Version 9. Just go back to the begining of this thread and read on.

Well I have receivedthe V9 version of the maps but was very disapointed to find that because I registered the unit on August 11th 2006 I was not entitled to a free unlock code. However with just a little bit of negotiation I managed to get an unlock code at half price just $43.48 ( just over £20). Not bad for the whole of Europe.

I rang Gramin Customer Services for free on 0808 238 0000 and negotiated with a guy called Andy. He was very helpful and I was very impressed by the way I was dealt with.

I ordered my disc online and it never arrived so I gave them a call and it arrived the next day. But you must regoster the unit online first.

Hope this helps

Garmin customer services.

I have just been on to garmin about my nuvi 360 update disc and the reduced fee for the unlock code.

They cannot do this for me as they have to pay commision to the mapping company and there is no way that anyone else would have had a reduced price...when I explained to them that someone had, he said that you cant believe everything you read on the forums and that no one would be given a cheaper price.

In all, told him that I was very dissapointed and that most companies these days try and help their customers, this is just making money off peoples backs as the unit was registered only a few days before.

So chrol , acording to him you didnt get it cheaper!!!

Regards, a very annoyed and dissapointed ...Dil

I didn't have to try very hard (honest). Here is the evidence from the email sent to me at the end of negotiations.

Subtotal:$37.00
Tax:$6.48
Total Purchase:$43.48
