When you get to the keyboard screen to enter the text you want to be spoken select the 123 icon, then select the #&? icon the character I use is the fourth from the left on the top row - not exactly logical but, I find it works quite well, just remember to set the second warning distance to the minimum value (100 yards), the primary warning should be considerably more than this - Mike |

Not at all sure whether I have a unique situation, but three of four tomes over the last year my TT has stopped giving audible warnings of cameras. Still get audible directions. No reason why that I have found , and I had to reset them all before they would work again. The speed icon in the top left hand corner also goes missing when this happens. I use one of the speed coded voice warnings, and my own set of speed bitmap icons.
It is something of a nuisance, but 15 minutres gets them back. _________________ Too many people "search for the zero inside themselves". Sadly, many fail to find even that.

There is a bug in V6 that if consecutive POI Warnings are the same, without a direction instruction between them, only the first will be announced.8O |
Does anyone know if this bug has been fixed for the TTOne V1?
Thanks |

Its not something I have checked for quite a while, I will load up and configure my 910 to find out, this only affected the computer voice warnings IIRC, the ogg and standard beeps/ bells etc. worked fine.
You have a number of options to get around this if its still a problem - we can detail those later once we have established if the device still behaves this way - Mike |

I don't get a problem with V6.524 and using the OGG Method. 8O _________________ Richard

What I did to overcome this issue is to use the ogg file method as Richard has done, but I much prefer the same voice for spoken alerts AND navigation, its a shame to loose the excellent TTS the 910 offers, here is how I got matching Kate spoken alerts using the ogg method. Make sure the 910 is fully charged before starting out.
1. Configure the 910 to use the TTS Computer voice "Kate"
2. Put the 910 in the car dock.
3. Connect the audio line out of the mount to your PC sound input (use the supplied 3.5MM stereo jack lead for this).
4. Use Audacity to record each spoken warning on the PC, this takes a considerable bit of messing around on the 910 to generate the audio you need for each file but it is not too difficult.
5. Use Audacity to remove any space at the start and end of the recording.
6. In Audacity use the Export as ogg file and name the file to match its corresponding ov2 file.
7. Install the ogg files to the Western and Central Europe map folder.
8. Configure the 910 to use the ogg warning sounds.
Total time to create the file set was around three hours IIRC, but at least I have a set of Kate computer voice ogg files that use the same voice as the device uses for navigation - this set-up sounds far more professional in my opinion than two seperate voices, and it doesn't miss warnings out - Mike |
