TT6 Map

I have TT6 runing on my pda for work. I have TT5 running on my mobile phone. My question is will the tt6 map work with tt5.

Version 660 Uk&Ireland plus major roads of WE and Western Europe maps (latest releases) should both work with TTn5,

I'm not sure that this is correct. Although I am perfectly willing to be proven wrong.

It's down to licensing of the maps enforced on nav suppliers like TomTom by the map 'manufacturers". This is why you need "new" maps when you went from 5.21 to 6. When you come to unlock the TTV6 maps you will need a valid TTV6 product code.

The version of the maps doesn't relate to any particular TT version so both 5.21 and 6 could use the same version of maps but they are different products and are unlocked differently.

Have you tried it yet?

The only reason I asked is when I went from 5.21 to 6 my old 5.21 version of the Canary Isles didn't work. THis was on PDA but the principal applies across the board I believe.

ttn5 will run v660 maps, but not previous vers 6 maps i.e. 650 or prior, ttn6 will not run v5 maps

To contradict my previous reply!

TomTom will allow you to upgrade your maps for TT5 to V660 and if you have a supported device (you get to choose from a list) they will give you the upgrade to TT6 also.

The implication is that V660 will run on TT5 and/or 6

To add to Info, I do believe you need at least TTN5 v5.210(5430) to run v660 maps, check out topic "ever wondered which maps work with your tomtom software" and i quote from one post:

GB Map V660
FR Map V660
Benelux Map V566

All work a treat
Unfortunately cannot speak for Palm users because I am on PDA Windows, and now well entrenched with TTN6 and V660 maps and not prepared to backtrak
