Definitely is a Problem I have just downloaded Fuels as combined file, this appears to unzip Ok with seperate .bmp & ov2 files, also downloaded Disabled Parking plus London Underground both as combined file and as individual files, all unzipped as single files without extension and unusable, if you have Poi-Edit installed on your computer, then double clicking on a good .ov2 file will show a full listing of entries if you need to check the listing contents. I prevously downloaded the disabled parking file a few days ago prior to more locations being added and it downloaded ok
All these files were downloaded as TomTom Files using ie6

racman,
The problem is not with the POI files as such as I am sure you have read. The problem is with the Garmin software on some Garmin devices. As such we are unable to "fix" it. What we can and have been doing is trying to find out what the limitations are and how to try and overcome them. _________________ Mike Barrett |

Tried Again this morning downloaded Disabled Parking, same result unusable, next used "show Link" and downloaded ok both files, so result is you have to use show link, because I downloaded these files seperately They each showed as same file name 18040_POIs.zip thus trying to overwrite the previous download although different category.
Overall not an Ideal situation,
please keep trying to convince me no problems |

Despite my problems, I probably have to agree with mike and dont confuse my situation with racmans problem, I can not see anything that could create this situation and perhaps just co-incidental that the nuvi was perhaps corrupt and about to go anyway, it well known that electronic problems usually occor when new, my problems seem to be downloads appearing as corrupt files. |

Have just returned from the Christmas break away in the caravan (awaits derisory comments) and "she who must be obeyed" was VERY impressed with the supermarkets POI's as installed on the TT700. We were in a new part of the country for us and these POI's enabled us to find decent supermarkets with ease - "her ladyship" was able to buy the necessary for Xmas dinner - much to my delight.
So .. thank you for a good and working system
This delight has now lead to a minor problem .... "her ladyship" now wishes to know if there is any way I can obtain a similar database for the Supermarkets/Hypermarkets of France - she is already planning her summer spending methinks ..
Boils down to 2 points ...
1. Does GPSW intend to "do" a French version ??
2. If not, does anyone know of an equivalent French database ??
regards and a happy new year to all

If the files are zipped, you need to unzip them to a folder on your computer, next you copy all the .OV2 and .BMP files that you unzipped to the map folder on your Tomtom, the best way is via Windows Explorer.
Then you need to enable the POI's on your device and set up warnings etc. _________________ Tomtom Go730T

Well Done tfox41, its nice to know that somebody apreciates any help given and it is being read, its sometimes disconcerting not getting feedback from the few that dont bother.
It may help others with similair problems |
