|
|
Hi everyone!
Just bought the Zumo 550 and fitted it to my BMW R1200GS using the Motorradconcepts mount. The BMW Dealer wired it in for me and the end result is incredibly professional - in fact, it looks like factory fitted equipment, the wiring is so neat and tidy, and barely visible. The mount, though expensive, really rocks and the cockpit is tidy and clear with everything easily visible.
Now, the question is this. How do I install the speed cameras onto the Zumo. The TomTom for the car is easy, but can someone please give me an idiots guide as to:
1) which database should I download?
2) how do I install it onto the Zumo?
3) how do I set the Zumo up to warn me of an approaching camera?
The Zumo isn't as intuitive as the TomTom in some ways. Please can someone help? I'd be very appreciative!
Thanks in anticipation! :D

1) download and install poiloader from www.garmin.com/poiloader
2) download the garmin/'poiloader - i3, nuvi etc' database or the garmin/speed zoned database
3) extract database to same folder as any other poi's (such as www.garminpoi.co.uk)
4) connect zumo via usb and run poiloader
5) camera's installed
6) in settings make sure that 'proximity alerts' are turned on

Right, so I've downloaded the Zip file which, when unzipped, contains 5 .csv files and the associated .bmp files.
Are these the ones I need?
Thanks

Yup, all sorted now - thanks. I've even managed to copy all my favourites from my TomTom 710 by using the downloaded POI Edit programme to convert to Garmin .csv files.
Job done! :D
