I can't get connected!

I've downloaded POIEdit, installed it as per instructions, but when Itry to run it I get the following message:

Cannot retrieve proxy settings. Probably these are set to Auto Detect or Auto Configuration. Set proxy settings manually from Online|Proxy Settings.

What does all this mean?

I've contacted my ISP - OneTel - and they say they don't have an IP Address or Proxy Setting.

How can I get through this problem? A step-by-step procedure would be much appreciated.

You are getting this message because either you or your ISP when you ran the installation software for their network, configured your IE browser to use a proxy server.

Disable the proxy settings, and you will be fine. Check this FAQ to find out what you need to do.

If working through the FAQ it still doesn't work, it's because you have a firewall configured and it's not able to travel through it to the internet.
