Hi
I'm new to the pda scene and have made a few mistakes 1 being i bought a toshiba e330 b4 i found compaq pda's and didnt want to do another but i may have with the gps 1000 and wanted some help if possible
I currently have a
ipaq 3950 ppc2002
ipaq cf expansion jacket plus
navman 1000 gps
I recently bought a navman 1000 gps but it came without the original software i have scoured the net and found out there is a newish software which navman has released from its us base where they have unlocked there software so you can use any gps system its called SmartST Pro the version which is unlocked is 1.91.0044 build
Question is can i use this to install the drivers i need to get the gps working on the above ipaq, as i have looked around on the net for the driver so i can put it on the ipaq and run the gps and emailed technical support as all i could find on navmans siite was a sh3 processor driver nothing about pocketpc 2002
thanks in advance. |

Now why on earth did you buy the Navman 1000 ? It is eating up the precious CF slot that you could have used for maps... Well, at least you have the SD slot for that.
as far as I know the Smart ST Pro comes with the drivers for all Navman hardware. But I don't know for sure - anyone else? _________________ Lutz

Hi lbendlin
I bought that gps as it was going cheap and as you mentioned im going to be using the sd slot
This way i can decide to upgrade in a few months to the 3450 or better navman gps i just want to have a fiddle and see if it works ok and see if i can get the software for it (above mentioned software) and can sell it on to someone and upgrade i just needed to know so i didnt make another mistake and buy software and cant use it for lack of the drivers for the navman 1000 |
