GPSW Excellent Service

I ordered the new Garmin GPSMAP 76CSx in March. It came by return of post.

After a few days the battery terminal snapped off as I changed the NiMH Duracells. GPSW sent a new device by return and refunded my postage. They even got me a new Unlock code from Garmin.

After a few more battery changes the same thing happened. Again they replaced it, but did not refund the paostage. Garmin got a bit heavier this time but they did eventually manage to get Garmin to give me a new Unlock code.

After a few more weeks, two terminals broke. Again GPSW helping by liaising with Garmin but now Garmin are digging their heels in. They are threatening to charge to repair the terminals and deny there is a design fault. They say I am being too vicious changing the batteries (as if).

So the moral is buy from GPSW. Avoid Garmin. It pains me to say this because I have been using their devices for 8 years. They are no longer a reputable manufacturer.
