Axim X51 no GPS using Tomtom Wired Receiver

Well as the title states, I am using (or trying to) my Dell Axim 51v with Tom Tom 5.21 and the wired TomTom gps receiver.

The problem I have is that Tomtom doesnt see the GPS device. I have read many problems about CF GPS units so I am using that in my old Dell X5 with no issues and the wired TT receiver in the X51v.

I have turned the WM5 function off to control GPS devices but still it wont see it. I know the wired reciever works as my X5 sees it and works fine with it.


Does anyone have any suggestions please?

likely it's because the registry entry for the "Serial port on COM1" is garbled. You'll need a registry editor, then drill down and correct the text.

I find that on my x51v that I use the "other NMEA" option rather than the Tomtom wired, which works fine once you sort the registry settings. This option will list the available serial ports and that'll indicate if the registry is ok or not.
