Anyone seen this problem
I have an unlocked XDA II with TomTom 5.210 Navigator & Bluetooth GPS on COM5

I originally used it with a TMobile phone chip and everything fine - I signed up to TomTom Traffic Alerts and this worked 100% of time.

Have now changed to an O2 chip. TomTom works 100% with Traffic disabled, or no chip inserted but if I enable traffic within a very short while (first traffic update?) it loses track........roads on map starts to disappear then if I move off route - it cannot replan and needs a reboot. on occasion it has also screwed the POI and Favourites (which I now back up)

I have done a hard reboot with chip in and reinstalled tomtom and also pulled the O2 config from their site.

Currently no idea so running without traffic option hence wasting subscription etc.and runniong into avoidable traffic jams javascript:emoticon('Confused')

Time to be really dense....what is a corperate install?

Hard reset - power off and reset, then reload tomtom and other utilities.
Didnt actually touch O2 bits

So how do I get rid of O2 bits and how will that help?

I think you will find that traffic updates etc will only work if you are using a contract O2 sim Card, not a pay as you go.

thanks for advice re active & tt5.........will try that again to be sure.

Note I am using a monthly contract phone.
When iactive nstalled it does pull down the alerts etc but starts to fail in use looks more likely it is active interfering with tomtom.......corrupting memory or somesuch.

What you describe are the classic signs of the Active interface by O2 causing problems, get rid of it.
Unfortunatley this means hard reseting your device, then go for Corporate mode enter code 0506.
Once this is done re-load all your software from disk, please do not use a back-up as that will put the O2 rubish back on the device and make the situation worse (trust me I have tried this) - Mike

I have always left the SIM card fitted and never had a problem doing it this way, you will have to set-up the GPRS connection afterwards, but this is a small price to pay compared to a useless device - Mike

Rebuilt the XDA with the corporate setting and code & no O2 Active. - simple menu only.....went out with sim in for a test drive....turned on the traffic update and within 30secs roads began disappearing again....turned off traffic, reset and XDA fine.
Did notice that I couldnt read the expansion card (which has the map on it) immediately after the problems... but after removing/refreshing it all worked again.

Clearly a problem still exists somewhere between O2 GPRS code, TomTom traffic and the XDA card mgt . [But no problem with TMobile chip ] If onl;y Tmobile coverage was better I would never have swapped to O2!
