This site has started charging for the full database but a basic database is still available for free:

http://www.alertegps.com

This site has a free download of last months basic database but to get the plus version you need to subscribe @ 15 Euros/annum.

http://www.radarsenfrance.com

I think they available in .asc but if you can use POI-Edit to convert them easily from most formats.

If you want Spanish speed cameras try this site:

http://www.puntodeinteres.es

You need to register but the downloads are free if you can work out how to navigate through the site Wink

Could someone explain in more detail how this works?

I've downloaded and expanded

http://rapidshare.de/files/28018012/Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3.3.rar.htmlModified=80107E84ACC0C601C5

and also downloaded the PGPSW database and copied them to the pdi folder. When I run Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3.3.exe I get the program window up with the four types of camera displayed but all the file locations are blank. Pressing HELP just gives me a blank window. All the drop-downs are blank as well. Also it appears to be in Italian.

I've just downloaded this and it starts in english. Have you modified or deleted the config.txt file since this should specify the language (Language=English). Also is the pgpsw database in .asc files ?

Once you get that right then all the speedcam files should appear in the right-hand window for you to move to the correct speed-cam box.

Also once you get it back in english you should be able to read the help file, broken english but understandable.

Regards

Roger

I've downloaded it again and just run it as it stands and still get it in Italian with no data files showing. There are some italian data files in the pdi folder but it doesn't even pick them up.

Thats very strange, the config file looks ok Confused

I've just downloaded again from here to the desktop:

http://rapidshare.de/files/28018012/Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3.3.rar.htmlModified=80107E84ACC0C601C5

I then get this file 'Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3[1].3.rar' on the desktop.
Right click on the above file and select 'WinRAR|Extract to Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3[1].3'.
Open the resultant 'Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3[1].3' folder and you should have:
folder: autovelox_asc
folder: compara
folder: pdi
folder: config
file: miomap_v3_map-code_finder.exe
file: Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3.3.exe

Doubleclick on file 'Miomap_v3-autovelox_updater-v3.3.exe' and it opens with an english interface, with country Italy selected and with five sample speedcam files in various locations.

Regards

Roger

Thanks Roger. I didn't have WinRAR so used my usual decompressor which is PowerArchiver. I've now downloaded a trial version of WinRAR and the extraction from that works OK. I'll have a go at doing the conversion for UK speedcams now.

Anyone know of free software that will decompress this type of RAR file properly?

I suspected it was a decompression error. Try 7-Zip, it's free and a bit basic but works well and supports unpacking of RAR files.

Thanks Roger. 7-Zip extracts the files correctly. My copy of Power Archiver is rather old which may explain why it did not decompress the RAR file correctly. Time to dump it I think.

http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=61060

I don't understand French but I can follow the sequence outlined in the post.

It doesn't look as though you can add cameras grouped by speed. Can anyone see how to do this ?
