Hi,

Got my new Copilot Pocket PC4 in 2 days ago and cannot get it to work properly. I tried the US numbers and their customer support and got no response. Hopefully you can help me out with this setup problem.

I am getting no GPS signal. I am using com port 1, 4800 baud and have a check on receiving under the GPS tab. GPS status page has a check by the GPS Com port opened and stops at detecting GPS signal.

I have tried reloading the software and re-racking the sleeve many time without any luck.

I have tried com port 5 as the Emtac page says for the 3800 series iPaq and do not get the com port opened message on the GPS status page.

On the GPS options page when I do an Auto Scan it does not find the com port.

Under System Setting- Expansion Pack Information, it gives a Description of Copilot GPS Jacket.

Do I need to install drivers for the GPS jacket? Installing CP4.5 over CP3.0 seems to have solved this problem for others in the Forums but I do not have a copy of this.

I am using:

iPaq model 3835 with Pocket PC Version 3.0.11171

Copilot Live version 4.5 with Packet PC Jacket

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :|

Try using a GPS diagnostics program (like the Emtac CruxView) . I have the CoPilot iPAQ jacket as well, but on my iPAQ 3970 it installs at COM4 - you may want to try that.

No additional driver is required - the jacket behaves as a standard modem., sending out the NMEA stream.

I did get in touch with an ALK Rep. from the UK. She told me I have a defective sleeve. It will be another month before I will get to try it out again. They are sending me a mailer box. I send it back and then they will send me a new one. Sad
