CF Card formating

I have bought a new 512MB Crucuial memory card, ready to install destinator 3 on, for a Loox 600. The notes with the card says format first, but I cannot seem to find any format command in Pocket PC 2002 but the Loox recognises the card when I inserted it, although it only lists 487.47MB, I am new to PDAs of this type any suggestions, help gratefully received

As long as you can access the card then there is no need to format it. The free space being reported is correct for a 512Mb card

Don't worry, all cards do come pre-formatted. You will lose a little space depending on how a megabyte is categorised, some companies categorise a megabyte as 1000 bytes, some as 1024 bytes.
