Sure iGO is way better looking than TomTom Navigator 5 but I seem to have alot of map jitter and slackness. Sometimes the display shows me continuing down a road when I actually turned 5 seconds ago. It seems to be really bad in recognizing that I'm turning.

I realize that since the nicer graphics, this software must be slower then TTN5 but I have a 624Mhz iPaq hx2795 and still I think it's slow.

I've already turned off textured polygons and set map/cockpit quality to the fastest options and turned off roadnames (which btw seems to be the biggest culprit), and it still doesnt run smoothly enough.

Anyone have any tips?

Have you made sure there are no other programmes running in the background, and turned off POI's. I found by changing to a Kingston Ultimate 166x (actually 20 times read/write) Card, and doing the above, everything runs fine, even with Street names showing. I realise you have iGO and mine is TTN5, but I believe you should find a big improvement.

That's very odd. I'm running both TTN5 and iGO 2006 on a 624 Mhz VGA Dell Axim X51v and iGO runs significantly faster than TTN5. Nothing is turned off in iGO and it is running in true VGA which is normally slower than QVGA whereas I have to run TTN5 in QVGA to get it to run at all smoothly.

Regards

Roger

I'm also running both TTN5 and iGO 2006 and for me TomTom is significantly faster. Maybe iGO is graphically optimized for VGA resolution...

Is this post relevant to what you are experiencing?

http://my.pdamill.com/viewtopic.php?t=1578

It does mention further on that the problem doesn't exist on VGA devices but more importantly that the developers are working on a solution.
