If i wanted to use the Zire 31 PDA GPS on my bike would I need a seperate power supply for the GPS unit and if yes what make would be best.

If your GPS unit is a wired device then yes you will require an external battery pack, then use the car charger leads to feed both the GPS and PDA. There is additional information in the links below:
