Not sure if this is the right group to post to but here goes.

Is it possible to alter the road speeds that Destinator uses to calculate the ETA. I often travel up and down the country but have never managed to get anywhere near the ETA without breaking the speed limits. An old Autoroute program, 97 I think used to use would let you set the speeds for 'A' roads and 'Motorways' and was much more accurate even allowing for holdups.

I assume you mean the ETA after setting your destination and before driving off. I always assume the initial figure to be the very best ETA possible under perfect road and traffic conditions and not stopping for a rest.

It would be hard to arrive sooner than the ETA especially as it updates according to speed travelled and distance left to go.

I have never used Destinator, but with all the other Satnav systems that I have used I have found that I can treat the initial ETA as almost a worst case. They always seem to overestimate my journey times by about 20%, which is handy on long journeys as I get a built in allowance for fuel and rest stops!

In my case it probably underestimates by about 20%. Judging by the two replies it seems that the method of calculation is preset and cannot be changed.
