OK, paid for subs to PoiHandler, downloaded and activated POI Warner for MEdion.
Installed Poi Warner and when I run the Auto update - it goes and fetches a list of POIs but then when I select some it fails to download them. I have entered my Poihandler email address BUT there doesnt seem to be anywhere to enter my Poihandler password.
Am I missing a step or something?

I can download the Poihandler list manually and then use POI Edit and transfer the .ASC manually to the poi subfolder but I that POI Warner would automate some of that for me - yes / no?

Find a manual at:
http://www.navigating.de/MN_en/POI/Anleitung/Anleitung-06.htm

You mentioned "I have entered my Poihandler email address", but the manual says: After the registration please fill in your given username in the sync settings ("POI-Sync"->"POI-Selection"->"Extras"->"Settings..").

And yes, POI-Warner should automate the POI-transfer to your PPC.

downloaded it myself aswell. You have to pay for some of the downloads with cost 12 euros. have a look on poihandler.com.

Also try what kkoeniger about setting up your user name as you have to set one up on the site poihandler.com

I downloaded the .ov2 files from your site and then used the Tomtom POI edit program to save them as .asc files (which work with POI-Warner).

I simply have to copy the .asc files and the associated bitmap into the poi folder on the PDA.

I'm not sure how Tomtom handles new POI entry, but POI-Warner allows you to assign a hardware button to a 'recording' function. When you want to add a poi (and you are at the place you want to add), you press this button and it asks you which type of poi it is (from the categories you allready have). You tap the button and it's added! It even allows you to 'fine tune' the location.. ie. to the left of where you are, the right or exactly your location.
DOne all this aswell. After figuring what you was on about I got it all sorted in the end. Its all on the pda now but my car is in the garage so ain't been able to test the speed cam program that I d/l from this site. So far so good tho as I was playing around with the pda and on the map it showed me a cam when i typed in a route Thumbs Up

I have downloaded all the software mentioned in the forum but when I go to send it to the device it will not find it so I saved the file as asc and then cut and pasted it into the medion under programfiles/poi-warner/pois and show the text on the map in small letters ie gatso but it will not show the symbol which is in the same file.does yours show the symbols?
Also the software seems to be for tomtom could this be why?

I have also syncronized the ppc with www.poihandler.com and sinked with mcdonalds but it does not show them on the maps in text or symbols
Confused Confused

I had to transfer a separate (.bmp) file into the pois subdirectory to get the symbols.

Cheers

I put the .bmp files into the POIWarner/pois directory - mine doesn't have any subdirectories below that.

Cheers

Hi there Happy,

I don't mean to sound thick Rolling Eyes here, but have you registered your POI-Warner software yet? It will run fine without being registered but won't show any POI until it is. Registration is 29 Euro (about £21) which you can do on the POI-Warner site.

Just asking really! :D

Hi

I had the same problem, but found if you turn off the option to display POI Information then the GATSO numbers stop showing up and the Camrea symbol appears instead

Regards
