You might have to resize the window to get it to look right.. It's a 500k flash file, with lots of screenshots of the operation of iGO.

Let me know what you think!

Two small comments.

- Rerouting is not "inobtrusive" - it will annoy you each time, stating "Recalculating route " with the unspoken addition "because you idiot missed the turn".
- the POI database is in SQLite format. Plenty of documentation available for that on the web. Just need someone who has TIME. 8O

I loaded the POI database into an SQLite viewer. Couldn't make head-nor-tail of it to be honest.

I actually think a vocal warning of you deviating from the route is a good thing because I prefer not to look at my sat nav while driving.

Good piece of software though, very promising. But with the lack user POIs in the database and the roundabout thing, I wouldn't use it regularly.

I quite like it - short and to the point, with two options either "500 Internal server Error" or "Created using Wink". Very good.

Today is a better day and the link worked for me. Very nice review, albeit a bit short.

2and2.net the host is free and as such always unreliable. Smile

The review wasn't intended to be comprehensive or anything, I just wanted to get people talking about the program a bit more - since no GPS site has actually reviewed it yet.. (hint hint)

hint well taken. However we are also beta testers, and bound by some form of NDA (nothing too dramatic). The main hindrance is time, or the absence thereof.

Hi,
I don't mind negative reviews as long as you report your problems on the my.pdamill.com forums as well. Not announcing roundabout exits inside 300 meters or yards came as a surprise to me, as well as those "slightly" turns. I'd be grateful if you could send us geocoordinates of erroneous guidance. We'll check the roundabout thing, I guess it's not specific for a place if it later announces the exit number. (otherwise it is)

You have UK imperial units guidance in http://my.pdamill.com/igo/voices/v_eng_uk_m1.zip
Also in the female version: http://my.pdamill.com/igo/voices/v_eng_uk_f1.zip you might have an older version of this one.
POIs can be imported from KML with www.pdamill.com/~fable/poiconvert.exe
You can get support for using it from other users at my.pdamill.com. I'm planning to make it obsolete.

lbendlin, since the product is released, you're free to write reviews as long as you "forget" what is on the beta forums. Sorry about spoiling your excuse Smile

Köszönöm szepen... Not. :x

I will be using iGO in Scotland over the next few weeks, and hopefully I'll find time to do a review. You still haven't resolved the key assignment issue, so I have to use my very own screen shot program in continuous mode... That will be interesting...

Just to say, I wasn't wholly negative in my 'review'. Not that it was a comprehensive review anyway. Smile Just to re-iterate - since the mini-review ends on a slightly more sour note - I think on the whole the program is amazing. The graphics are brilliant, I quite like the user interface (aside from a few issues with the look of it), searching is quick.. Now the voice has been fixed for Imperial measurements the only other issues are the roundabouts (gonna try more roundabouts sometime today) and the lack of POI warning.

Thanks for the voices and the POI Converter!

Hi everybody.
I have iGO software but I don't have a PDA. I would like to use it on my PC with Windows XP. Is there any emulator for Pocket PC? Any ideas?
Thank you.

There is an emulator (the Microsoft Device Emulator) but iGO needs a SD card ID and the emulator doesn't know about SD cards. Won't work.

Hi guys. Just read your review darthpaul; very good indeed! How on Earth did you set it up like that? Very detailed but yet straight to the point if that makes sense? Wink

I would be interested in this product but the only thing that worries me is the poor Teleatlas maps. I live in Northern Ireland and although the coverage has increased dramitically recently, most of the roads (if not all) outside of the major towns are 'unnamed'. Is there a way to set up a full post code facility with IGO? If not, it is vertually unusable in Ireland.

Many thanks,

Viper
