Hi

I have just bought an Origin B2 second hand and have everything except the 240volt transformer. Since I already have one of these in the house, I intend to use it instead of the one supplied by origin; HOWEVER I don't know whether it is compatible, and cannot find this info on the origin website.

Can anyone tell me what the input/ output voltage, resistance, polarity etc is for this transformer - for both the origin plug outlet and the modem plug outlet?

I hope this makes sense! 8O

Thanks

Brad

I'd buy one from Origin to be safe.
The transformer plugs directly it a red socket on the modem cable. Only £9.95. Is it worth damaging the unit for the sake of a tenner?

Thanks for the reply. I don't disagree with your logic: infact I might just go ahead and buy one from Origin. You're quite right about the cost - which is minimal.

My point is driven the fact that I already have about four assorted 240V - 12V transformers and, since the one made by origin has got to me about the only "standard" bit of kit in the bundle (i.e transforms from 240V to 12V, with standard connectors) it would seem a shame to add another one to my collection, when the same job could be done by another transformer.

It seems to me that the most important bits of information are the output current and the polarity. If I know this, then I can make an informed judgement.

Thanks again, and if anyone could let me know this I'd be really grateful.

Cheers

Brad

I have one, but the label has come off the plug!
Pls be carefull, its an excellent bit of kit, shame to fry it with the wrong power.
Just ensure you get the updated camera locations they change regularly. It's never let me down so far anyway!
