Jeep Grand Cherokee

I am thinking of changing the car for a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with built in Sat nav. Does anyone know what syastem the jeep uses.

I've just bought the jeep grand cherokee 06 with satnav but may actually have to use my tomtom palm tx solution for speed camera if i can't find a fix. (I bought the satnav option cheap to get the cd multi changer more than the satnav itself).

I believe I read that the system is by Alpine.

It's dvd based and currently has POI's preinstalled just not cameras.

I suspect that it must be possible to take the DVD copy it and add and new speed camera POI type.

I haven't tried it or even looked at the DVD content but would appreciate anyone elses thoughts.

I also don't think that there is any warning facility for POI's within this system.

As far as I know no car makers sat nav systems support custom POIs or are able to import them. I would be interested to hear from anyone that has managed it.
