If a call comes in and I'm using a BT head piece, how would that affect the running of TT5....disconnected for a few minutes ?

When i used the imate jam it used to bring up phone screen and you could answer the phone and tomtom would still show you where you where going. Not 100% on if you will get turn left and right to the BT headset but i would assume so.

if you get a call while using tt5 it will still run tt5 just mutes so you will still be able to see on screen where you are but you will lost voices instructions while on a call after the call has finished the voice will come back dont panic if you lost the gps conection for a second or so after finishing a call

Just to confirm Steven's point, I've the Holox BT-321 which I use with a Nokia 6680, and it is great. Quick to first fix, and uses the same batteries as the phone (and my now redundant 6230).

Thanks all...Steve, going back to the previous page...can I please just confirm...you said that TT5 needs the PocketPC program and not the Mobile version which is fine...does that apply to all new prorams that I wish to download...ie even though it's running on Mobile WM5, I should stick to Pocket PC downloads ?....sorry for my confusion !

Hi,yeah windows mobile 5 is very fussy with what applications it supports (without gliches!)

Try and avoid anything not supported for your Vario to avoid software conflicts and bugs creeping into its system....
what sort of additional software are you thinking about to install?

Make sure your TT5 has he latest tomtom 5.21 patch to ensure smooth operation with your MDA Vario and BT GPS (if you have one yet?)
Hope that helps

Bryson!

I have the MDA Vario/Holox BT321.
To clarify, the difference in TT Mobile/Navigator is the method of input.
TT Mobile uses a phones keypad, whereas TT Navigator uses the PDA touch screen. Therefore you need TT Navigator for the Vario.
On top of this, the Vario only offers com ports 6 and 7 in the BT config options on the device. Only TTN v5.2x will offer these ports on the TT GPS config. You will have no success trying TTN 5.0 with thew Vario.
The Vario is a pocket PC and not a phone, so therefore any programs you install will be built for PPC (ARM processor).

Thanks one and all.. I appreciate the clarification/input and general help. To be honest, I hadn't really thought of it as a Pocket PC device, particularly as it'd sold as a Mobile WM5 device...(I think !) I'm just waiting for my BT to arrive and hopefully it will carry on to be as good as my existing IPAQ/TT521 system. (No wonder some of my WM5 downloads were not too good!)

As a further follow up...could somebody please explain to me...maybe in laymans terms... the difference between WM5 and PocketPC with this phone. Is it that the PDA part is only looking for PocketPC programs and the WM5 is solely interested in the phone part ? I'm still a bit confused as to what to download, WM5 applications or only Pocket PC apps ? thanks.

Windows Mobile 5, is just a different name for PPC 2005. Windows mobile is the new OS from Microsoft for PDA's.

Windows Smartphone edition is for smartphones not PDA's.

What i have is a cig adapter that has a USB port on the top, that way i can power a number of things with the USB connector. It does come in handy if you have multiple mini usb devices.
