Hey Dave,
Not sure what information you are after. Generally, I use my Etrex Vista alot driving hiking and Dirtbiking. I ve noticed that it looses signal when mounted on handle bars riding in forrest, i guess thats to be expected with trees over head. otherwise its great usually acurate within 30 or so feet. would that be 10 meters? I have just upgraded software from Garmin and that was easy. Thats why im searching forums tonight. ill check back in a couple of days let me know what info your after.

Hi Snobound, it was actually in relation to our Vista review. Back last year we didn't link back from the forum, but we do now, this review didn't have a link back, but I've just added it.

You will lose signal under foliage, the GPSMap's are better because they sport a Quadhelix antenna. We haven't got a Vista here now, so unfortunately we can't update the firmware, but it will be interesting to see how you get on with the new firmware. Smile

For the price of the unit, the battery connectors are inferior to my $5 pocket radio. Normal practice is to place the contact spring on the negative (case) of a battery.

Garmin, stupidlyin my opinion, placed two springs at the same end which means users are unable to change batteries in the dark as one spring is positive and the other negative!

This receiver also eats batteries (don't forget to select the correct type from a menu of 4 in setup).

The rubber buttons on the outside are difficult to operate (especially outside in a Canadian winter) and the antenna sensitivity is poor.

Better that you throw in a little more money and get a receiver with an external antenna or antenna connection.
