I had a rush delivery to Paris last week, but only had my normal Uk planner with me. After emerging from the Channel Tunnel I still had some mapping shown but not all the way to Paris. So I left the unit running and saved my trip. Played it back on MapPoint on my return and its was perfect. But can I pre-load France onto my 64M SD card ready for my next French visit. Rolling Eyes

Yes, you can load any number of map definitions (City Radius, Map area, trip with corridor) onto your Pocket PC and CoPilot will use them when it is in that area. I've written about it in
my review.

After reading the latest link on the ALK site http://www.alk.eu.com/products/consumer/upgrade/index.asp about map upgrades
I think that £99.99 is is bit expensive for that sort of extra usage. Afterall, I purchased this system expecting the money I spent gave this sort of service. I will not be paying for the Foreign Maps, instead will be using my Laptop, with MapPoint Europe and a plug in GPS I have and runnung a AGPS talking programe

Glad to hear you are happy with the Co-Pilot pocket while riding in the train.. Do I understand correctly you had good satellite reception both in England and in France?? I'm imagining you are sitting next to a train window. Is that correct??

Is there a list of memory requirements for the countries in Europe??

I'd like to think a 256meg card would be more than sufficient.

The 256Meg SD cards are selling for $64 here at Costco.

A 256mb card would not fit the whole of Europe on it. The UK alone stands at 95mb for most mapping companies, CoPilot is good though because you can create trip routes and download maps across Europe just for those routes you have selected. If you're looking at storeing a whole country, 128mb card should suffice in most cases, although some countries may be a little larger. A 256, 512 or 1GB would come in very handy if you wanted to do more though.
