Hello
i was thinking about getting an ipaq 4700 to run tomtom 5 on (and surf the net via wifi) but does anyone know if the 100% usage/over heating pda, problem has been solved? Ive trawled through the forums but im still unsure? (seen a couple of threads where people are still having problems/and some where they say 5.1 sorts this out?)
Does 5.2 help,or with all bugs is it not worth it?

and just a bit off topic does a vga screen mean when i surf the net on wifi will i see the complete pocketgpsworld.com screen?,all be it a lot smaller?

Lots of question marks in this post but you guys have been a great help before.

regards
jasb

Hi Jasb,

I'm using the ipaq 4700 to run Tom Tom (ver 5.21) and have little to no problems with it - great bit of software and a great PDA.

To turn your VGA 4700 into 'real VGA' you need to install some freeware software called SE-VGA which you can get from http://tinyurl.com/huab4

I put it on mine but removed it again because I couldn't read the writing on some web sites it was that small.

I'm not sure if you'll see the complete pocketgpsworld.com web page but if this piece of free software doesn't do it - it can't be done Wink

If you wanted to do some background reading on the subject just type SE_VGA_EN - ARMV4.exe into Google and have a good read Wink
