I have tried to install destinator ND on the GNAV10 and everything seems to be ok apart from a couple of things. One I was hoping someone might be able to help with.

I get the following error when pressing certain buttons on the screen:

LoadStdBitmap Error:

unknown standard bitmap code is found: IDB_WAIT_CURSOR1

Happens when I:

1) click find gps or set gps

2) clicking the home button (icon)

3) Clicking on Favorite icon in menu

4) click on items in favorites menu

5) click on cancel from favorites

Anyone any ideas. With home button it only happens if I have an address set to home.

The functions all work as they should but the error message pops up first.

Thanks

Pete

Ok, thanks to some help from an ND user (cheers Paul), I have sussed that the problem with the error is to do with the Visual Destinator.inf not matching correctly. So after a bit of manipulating I should be able to get that right.

One more of a major problem with the install of ND is that I can't pick up any satalites. It has found GPS but continues to aquire satilites. The voice alert for signal to low also is not being said. I have left it on with antenna up in my conservatory over night and still no satalites.

Does anyone know what I could try to rectify this. I had no problem with satalites when the OP version was on it.

Thanks

Pete

I've now tried to install PN version using the new patch on the website. I have got it all up and running like I did with ND but still the same problem with satalites. Anyone have an idea of what is going wrong:

Please Confused Sad

What did you do to install. Did you replace the main.cab file? in 2577 folder and attempt to install via Destinator console?

If you do it this way it should work so long as you have activesync running and gnav plugged in and switched on.

Once it is installed you need to browse device (Destinatorapps/destinator) and replace some files. If I remember correctly it was the destinator.exe (though I may be wrong - play with it and see - if you put all the OP files from that directory, apart from the console folder, then it should work)
file. You need it replace with the one used with OP or you can't access navigation mode (it won't load up with PN file).

Only prob like I said is I couldn't pick up sats. Anyway I don't think it will be much different than OP version but give it a go and tell me how you get on.

Pete

Are you doing the install as I say above, changing the files in the 2577 folder and installing via Destinator console. Make sure you keep the original Installcab.exe file from the OP install and also keep your addons folder from OP version. Only change the Main.cab Don't try and do the install with a autorun install file on the SD card as I don't think this will work with the GNAV.

Sorry if I'm stepping on someones toes but cobbie there is a conversion utility called POI/Route/Track conversion utility and that will convert the following files to any of the other formats listed.

TomTom overlays (*.ov2, *.ovr); TomTom ASCII files (*.asc); TomTom Navigator 3 Itinerary files (*.itn); Maptech Marks files (*.mxf), Route files (*.rxf), Track files (*.txf); Garmin PCX5 Waypoint files (*.wpt), Route files (*.rte), Track files (*.trk); GPS eXchange files (*.gpx); AutoRoute Pushpins (*.csv); Excel files (*.xls).

You'll need to do a search for it as I can't remember where I got it sorry Smile

Hi cobbie. Sorry taking so long to reply.

POI edit (you can get from the download section) will convert the files.

As for the install. Don't bother replacing the whole 2577 folder, just replace the Main.cab file.

As for thye destinator.exe file. Make a copy of your Destinator Apps folder from your GNAV to PC. This way you will have all the original files from OP version to swap and change if needed. After each install I copy the whole folder so I can custom create the interface which I want.

Once you copy the folder just find the exe file in Destinatorapps/destinator
and after you install PN browse GNAV again and replace the file with the OP version file.

Hope this makes some sense to you.

Do you mean the hardware buttons. I didn't get round to looking at that because I couldn't get the sats.

Is there anything different you did from what I said. I couldn't get sats at all. Maybe there was something wrong with my install folder. When you get a minute can you send me your revised 2577 folder for this installation so I can try it again. I will take a look at the hardware buttons then.

I don't suppose you had to wait a long time before it picked up sats or put in a registration key somewhere (I thought that this could have been something to do with it but waited ages and couldn't find anywhere for a key so gave up).
