Hi i think there maybe a potential fault with Checkpoint whilst navigating.
i was going by Danson underpass today and above there its a bridge which is the A2 like a flyover.
Now as i was passing under the bridge i got the warning Speed camera ahead.
As soon as this happened TOMTOM recalculated the route thinking i was on the A2.
Is this a problem anyone else has had ? |

i have checked this again and this does occur.
I was on another flyover where there was a speed camera below and Tomtom than thought i was on that road below took ages trying to recalculate another route after that.
Is there any planes to make this program directional.
How do Road Angel etc manage to do it. would it be possible to try and get hold of their coding for the program ? |

Firstly, CheckPOInt can't make TomTom recalculate a route, so it's TomTom doing it all by itself. What happens sometimes is that TomTom and other navigation programs can think because you've gone under a road, that you're actually on the flyover, and it will try to re-calculate you along the flyover rather than crossing under the flyover. There is no fix for this, it can happen to anyone, it really depends on the road layout, and map data.
All of the current POI detector's basically use an arc, and providing a camera is within this arc of the direction you are travelling in, it should only pickup POI's in that arc and notify you of them. You may need to change the angle of sensitivity in CheckPOInt.
You can't get hold of Road Angel's coding, it's all encrypted. |
