TT5 Palm T5 and wired GPS problem

I have been running TT5 for about 6 months on my Palm T5 without problem. About 2 weeks ago my GPS died (the red flashing LED stopped). I have replaced it with another wired GPS (Evermore GM-R500), this was tested and working in the shop. I have connected it to the Palm and I get a 'No GPS Device' message. TT5 is set to other wired GPS and baud rate 4800. I have tried all the baud rates, the TT wired GPS with no luck. I have zapped the Palm and reloaded all the software including TT5 and am still getting the same message.

Any help or ideas are most welcome.
