|
|
For some reason the GPS data Tab on my map seems to have disappeared (the one that normally sits alonside routes waypoints etc) Normal communication (upload download maps works fine so comms does not seem to be the problem)
Any ideas please because I do quite like connecting to my laptop and getting the real time tracking triangle.
Thanks

Yes sorry, should have said Mapsource! I upgraded from City Select Europe V7 to the new City Navigator Europe V8 and there it was gone! Think is has something to do with the unlock code being faulty. I had different faults on the City select and had to have another unlock, so maybe it's the same sort of problem. What do you think Zogman?

Hi Zogman,
Well here's the answer. City select Europe V7 does have the GPS tab for real time tracking BUT by e-mail from Garmin this morning, the City Navigator Europe V8 update does NOT contain this facility. (the NT version apparently does !!) However they have given me a Garmin page which contains a download to get the real time tracking working.
http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=575
I'm going to check this morning that turn by turn navigation works on the Version 8 ! Why do things have to be so complicated with so may different versions . . !!
Hope this is of use for your knowledge bank!

For all those hacker minded people. Not that I agree that kind of behaviour.
Download the above file.
Open it with WINHEX or the like.
Search the file for the word EVALUATION.
And you will notice -
This Setup was created with an EVALUATION VERSION of InstallShield DevStudio.
Realise this is a free download, but its a patch for software people actually pay for. Didn't think evaluation software was to be used for that. Oh well, Im sure Im wrong and Garmin are right |

What's all this about hackers and not paying for the software ?? I paid a lot of money for that software. Or have you posted this to the wrong topic?

Please read. I know my written English isn't going to get me a job at "The Times" but your comprehension is even worse.
It is probably a quirk of the software that Garmin use by DevStudio. Im sure Garnmin really pay for thier software. |
