Hi,
Forgive me for being a bit thick here but I'm finding the map versions a tad confusing. I've got an original Tomtom GO which has the GB map v390 on the original 128MB SD card as supplied with the unit, bought some 14 months ago. My understanding so far is that if I want to upgrade to the latest version of maps (whatever that might be) I would need to
a, Purchase an upgrade from TomTom at 60 Euro
b, Purchase a higher capacity SD card as the new maps are larger than 128Mb.
c, Update the App software to v5.420 (free?)
Could one of you knowledgable people please put me out of my misery and either confirm my suspicions that it's going to cost a bob or two for the new maps plus SD card or I'm missing something somewhere.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Yes that's it!
But... are you having problems with your current map? If not, why waste money on an upgrade? The changes are very small and often well behind reality. You stand a good chance of being disappointed.
I would check with people who have newer maps to see if something you really need has been updated. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Hi,
Thanks for the advice. There's nothing wrong with the maps I'm using, my initial thought was that maybe I should update them so I'm, well, up to date but when I looked into it, the offerings were somewhat confusing. It still gets me where I want so I'll leave it for now but thanks again for your help.
