now that N70 and N90 are TomTom compatible would I be right in assuming the N80 will be compatible when it finally gets released or anyone know for definite?

Im hanging off buying a new mobile at the moment.

Should be, yes. It's S60 and TomTom recently said it should work on all S60 phones.

cheers for that, one last question

do pocketpc, smartphone and symbian all share the same map files if i was to combine all versions onto a single 2GB SD memory card

The current version won't be compatible due to the new s60 v3 security issues. The same applies to all current software - all we'll need some modification.

The N80 isn't due out till at least April so TomTom have pleanty of time to come out with a fix.

Doesn't the N80 use a mini-SD card?

The maps are the same, yes. However they will need activating individually for your new device.
