Hi Guys,

Don't know if anyone can help me, but I got a Gizmondo for xmas, and it has sat nav on there, which is by CoPilot. I want to download the camera database onto it, but from reading the instructions on here, I need CoPilot on my PC, which I don't have.

Does anyone know if I can dowload the camera onto my gizmondo any other way?

Cheers

Julz

Cheers,

so I've been here....

http://support.alk.eu.com/cgi-bin/alk.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=326&p_created=1130514866

And downloaded and saved this to my giz in the 'save' folder, is that all I need to do, or do I need to download from here the ov2 file as well?

Cheers for the help

Just in case anyone other than Julz reads the above, Julz and Alix776 are discussing to two discrete methods of updating Copilot 6 POIs, the co-existence of which has led to some misunderstanding.

Copilot 6 includes a "new" POI import method not seen in CP 5 (actually, it is a method used by some other navigation packages). The "old" method has not been discontinued.

The "new method utilises OV2 files, which can be downloaded from third party sources such as the appropriate pages of this forum. The "old" method utilises the POI.dat file, which is the Copilot "in-house" POI file.

I know it's a bit delayed, but i've been using my Giz, and the speed camera POI's aren't working...they're definately set to show them, but they don't show up, and no warning is spoken....is this because I copied all of the files across and should have only copied the 1 file...

Can i reset this? Or can anyone help?

Cheers

Providing you follow the instructions (to the letter) here then you will not have any problem.

Me again...

I know it's a bit delayed, but does anyone know if there will be an update other than November 2005 for the Giz now that they have gone bust?

Also, where can I get a European map?

Cheers

Excellent guide to camera downloads - thanks Dave!

Up and running in 10 minutes

Is there a way to tie in voice alerts for camera positions on the Gizmondo?

Blimey, Dave Burrows "The Management" does exist. You got Lord Lucan working at ALK as well?

I've been dealing with one of your agents, PM me for his name, trying to get a managerial response to a complaint I have about an upgrade to CP6, the process, pricing and just about everything else.

It’s like nailing jelly to the ceiling. The gatekeepers (Agents!) just will not let me past.

PS Still, just, a CP5 customer, only because I can’t find anything better!!
PPS Sorry for hijacking your post, ban me if you want, couldn't care less.
