Urgent Help (PiN 570)

Just bought a brand new PiN 570. Worked fine for half an hour now even standing in our garden it wont pick up any signal. Just constantly says waiting for GPS and will not find anything - for about an hour now - is it ?

My PiN 570 took about 20-30 minutes to first get a lock on the gps, but after that was fine, so if you still don't have a lock it sounds not quite right.

The signal was a bit weak in the car so I bought an external antenna which helped (cost 20£, and it now takes a minute or so to find a GPS, quicker if I have used it recently, slightly longer if its not been used for a few days).
